Who runs the practice
Dr. Ben Glass is a Doctor of Chiropractic and a 2012 graduate of Life Chiropractic College West, practicing in downtown Oakland since 2013. He sees patients in English and Spanish. Dr. Irina Velichko, DC sees patients in English and Russian, with a focus on extremity injuries: shoulder, elbow, wrist, knee, ankle and foot.
One distinction is worth knowing: the clinic works as a treating provider, not a retained expert witness. A treating provider examines you, cares for you and writes notes as each visit happens. A retained expert is hired, usually by one side of a case, to give an opinion. The clinic takes no expert-witness engagements.
Is a chiropractor worth it after a car accident?
This is the real question behind most searches, so here is the honest answer rather than the marketing one.
Start with the emergency room, because a chiropractic office is not one. Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room now if, after a crash, you have a headache that gets worse and does not go away, repeated vomiting, slurred speech, confusion, one pupil larger than the other, or weakness, numbness or decreased coordination (CDC danger signs); a head injury with passing out or confusion, an injury to the neck or spine with loss of feeling or inability to move, severe chest pain or trouble breathing (MedlinePlus); or back pain with numbness or weakness in both legs, loss of feeling around the genitals or anus, or bladder or bowel changes. If there are no warning signs, a chiropractic exam is one option for neck, back and other muscle and joint pain after a crash. Not everyone feels pain at the scene; soreness and stiffness can become noticeable in the hours or days after a crash, and there is no fixed schedule. If you notice something, write down the day it started. That note is useful at any exam.
The record matters too. Get examined as soon as you can. An early, dated exam starts your record from the beginning. The clinic writes down what it finds; it does not predict what anyone will decide about a claim.

Who this is not for
Being straight about this is more useful than pretending everyone is a fit:
- Emergencies. Loss of consciousness, a head injury with confusion, a possible broken bone, trouble breathing, or any warning sign above — call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room, not a chiropractor.
- One-time adjustments. Care here starts with an exam, and your plan is based on that exam and explained before care starts. If you want a single crack-and-go visit, this isn't the right clinic.
- Non-accident complaints. General back pain, posture, pregnancy care, and wellness are not what this clinic treats.
- Patients far outside the East Bay. A treatment plan means showing up consistently. If the drive is an hour each way, a closer provider will serve you better.
