The Part Most Clinics Won't Put In Writing

We take nothing from attorneys

Oakland Accident Care accepts no fee, referral payment, or consideration of any kind from any law firm. We do not recommend a specific attorney. Patients who want counsel are handed a written list of local personal injury firms and choose for themselves.

We treat you whether or not you have a lawyer, and whether or not you ever hire one. If you'd rather not involve anyone, that's a complete answer and it doesn't change your care.

Related, and just as important: Dr. Glass works as a treating provider, not a retained expert witness. We do not offer opinions on what a case is worth, and we don't write records aimed at a number. We write down what we found, when we found it, and how it changed.

That distinction is the reason the records hold up. A record written to advocate reads like advocacy. A record written to document reads like fact.

Money

How payment actually works

We verify your coverage before your first visit and tell you in writing what you will owe. No estimate at the door, no surprise afterward.

The at-fault driver's liability coverage may pay for your care. Approval timelines vary by carrier.
MedPay or PIP on your own auto policy pays regardless of fault, and using it does not raise your rates.
Uninsured motorist coverage applies in hit-and-run and uninsured-driver situations.
We do not bill health insurance directly. If that is how you would prefer to pay, tell us and we will say so plainly rather than guess.
A lien means the bill is paid out of a settlement rather than up front.

What we won't tell you is that it's free. Whether you owe anything depends on your coverage, and we'd rather show you the number than promise you a zero.

Fit

Who this clinic is not for

Medical emergencies. Chest pain, loss of consciousness, confusion, a worsening severe headache, numbness that won't resolve. Call 911 or go to Highland Hospital at 1411 E 31st Street.
Anyone wanting one adjustment and nothing else. We examine, document and build a plan. If you want a quick crack, we're the wrong office.
General wellness, posture or family chiropractic. This clinic treats collision injuries only.
Anyone seeking an opinion on claim value. A treating doctor doesn't do that, and one who offers to should worry you.
Patients well outside Oakland and the East Bay. Accident care needs frequent early visits; distance defeats it.

We don't ask about immigration status

It is not asked, not recorded, and not required to be treated here.

Spanish is spoken by the doctor, not through a translator

Dr. Glass examines you, explains what he finds, and answers your questions in Spanish himself. Nuance survives that. It usually doesn't survive an interpreter, and it never survives a phone line.

Same-day slots are held for new accident patients

So you can be examined as soon as you can. An early, dated exam starts your record from the beginning.
